The Founder - A Brief Profile

Mr. Orlando M. da Costa-Luis, the founder and proprietor of the firm, is an alumnus of St. Mary’s High School and graduated from the Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, in Bombay, India.

He possesses the following professional qualifications:

  • Insolvency Practitioner (Licenced in Kenya under The Insolvency Act 2015 - since 2017)
  • C.P.S. (The Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya - since 1992)
  • C.P.A. (The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya - since 1987)
  • C.A. (The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India - since 1984)
  • C.S. (The Institute of Company Secretaries of India - since 1983)

He also obtained the Certificate of Proficiency for Insurance Agents in Kenya in 1997.

This is supported by over 46 years of wide and varied experience in the financial sector.

He commenced his career as an Article clerk/Trainee Chartered Accountant in September 1979 with M/s A. F. Ferguson & Co., Bombay, India, (representing KPMG International) the then-largest public accounting firm in India as well as worldwide.

He was with a subsidiary of the prestigious TATA group of companies in India, in a very senior position, before coming to Kenya. Of the total experience, 8 years were in audit firms, 35 in private practice, and the rest in top management positions in industry.

He has served on various Committees of The Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya and The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya. He also has served as a Trustee on Charitable Trusts and a Rotarian.
